A True Detroit Original - Don't Miss This Place! I'd been hearing about Motz's for years, and I finally made the trip over to Delray to see if it lived up to the hype. Let me tell you, it absolutely does. If you're looking for fancy toppings or a trendy atmosphere, this ain't it. But if you want a legit, old-school slider that tastes like history, you have to go to Motz's. Walking in feels like stepping back in time in the best way possible. It's a small, no-frills spot with a counter and a grill that's been seasoned for decades. The smell of grilled onions hits you the second you open the door, and you just know you're in for a treat. This isn't a place for sitting down and hanging out; it's all about the burger. I got a couple of cheeseburgers with everything, and they were perfect. The patties are smashed thin on the grill right on top of a pile of onions, so the flavor gets cooked right into the meat. The bun is soft, the cheese is melty, and the pickles and ketchup are just right. It's simple, but it's exactly what a slider is supposed to be. This is the kind of burger that generations of Detroiters have grown up on. Just a heads-up, bring cash! Seriously, if you love burgers and want to experience a real piece of Detroit, you can't do better than Motz's. It's an absolute institution for a reason.

I’ve been to Detroit many times, but this was my first time trying this place. I was really curious to see if it lived up to the hype. The reviews are great, and the photos and videos make you believe it’s going to be the real deal. I can honestly say it is. The burgers are true old school style, the buns are steamed perfectly, and the onions are spot on. I ordered extra cheese on mine, and the flavor really came through. This is a classic smash burger done right. It actually reminded me a lot of Burger America in Manhattan. What a gem to have in the city of Detroit. I wish there was one where I live. The staff was friendly, laid back, and easygoing. Just a quick note, make sure you order before sitting down because they don’t take orders at the counter seats.

After many years of eating many sliders at many places, Motz's on Fort Street has become my clear favorite. It's not my neighborhood place and it has very limited hours (breakfast/lunch only, M-F only -- very unusual for a white castle!), so I'm not able to get there as often as other lesser joints, but that just makes every visit a treat! The sliders are perfect, the beef still thick enough to know that you're eating a burger, instead of being squashed down into a single-atom thin veneer. The buns are just the right size instead of oversized to trick you like some other places, yet they don't get soggy from the toppings and condiments. The onion rings and shakes are perfectly done every time no matter how busy they are (and this is one of the rare places that doesn't mind when you order a shake). Service is exactly what it ought to be: homey, warm, and ever so slightly gruff only because they're focused on being efficient and cranking through orders so that nobody waits too long for carryout; they pay good attention to you when dining in at the handful of counter seats. Motz's is a gem born of a bygone era, and I'm so glad we still have it.

My dine-in experience was fast, good and friendly. Surprisingly, the beef was Halal. The grilled onions I ordered on my cheeseburger enhanced the flavor. It was so delicious! I was taken back to my early childhood. Yes, that good:)

First time trying Motz Burgers. The cashier was super friendly and helped me with all the questions I had about their menu. Loved the burgers and onion rings. Will be going back soon!
